• Emma WEllard

Clinical Director and Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist

I am a specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist and have worked in this field for over 15 years. Due to my keen interest in sports injuries and rehabilitation, I took further studies to gain an MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine. I am a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and I am qualified to teach Clinical Pilates.

Having worked in private practice and within sport for some time I have gained the experience to successfully treat many groups of patients. These include those with a wide variety of musculoskeletal problems, those recovering post operatively, the elderly requiring help with mobility and balance, those injured in sports and everyone in between!

With 3 children of my own and a background of teaching clinical Pilates I am equipped to treat those with pregnancy and post natal musculoskeletal problems.

I love sport and have been privileged to work with a variety of sports men and women over the years. As a family we are bike mad and I enjoy helping riders recover from injury and rehab effectively so their return to riding is a smooth one.

I have the expertise to treat a range of age groups from young to old and have spent time developing the knowledge and skills to effectively treat young sporty kids.

I am passionate about providing the best level of care to all my patients and look forward to welcoming you into the clinic.

    Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist

I am a Chartered Physiotherapist with over 20 years of experience in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy. After completing my physiotherapy degree, I undertook a Master’s in Manipulative Therapy in Australia, further refining my clinical skills in evidence-based, contemporary treatment approaches.

My professional background includes working in high-performance sport and private practice settings throughout the UK and New Zealand. I have lived and worked as a physiotherapist in the Tweed Valley for over ten years, during which I developed a deep appreciation for supporting active, outdoor lifestyles for individuals of all ages.

My clinical interests encompass managing spinal pain, osteoarthritis, persistent pain, and sports injuries. I am passionate about empowering patients with the knowledge and tools they need to understand their conditions better, take an active role in their recovery, and build confidence in managing their long-term health.

I adopt a holistic approach to care, integrating manual therapy, targeted exercise, strength and conditioning, education, and self-management strategies to support sustainable outcomes. I aim to collaborate with each patient to create meaningful, lasting improvements in their movement, function, and overall well-being.
